At Funk Electrical Services, we believe in powering up not only homes and businesses but also our local community. That’s why this year, we proudly sponsored and participated in the 10th annual Muddy Mamas of Maryland 5k race. Our team, affectionately called the “Funky Mamas,” laced up their shoes, donned their brightest gear, and tackled the mud with smiles, grit, and a whole lot of heart.
What Is Muddy Mamas?
Mud Runs have gained popularity nationwide, but the Muddy Mamas event stands out. Unlike the large corporate races, this event is completely unique in its purpose. Every dollar raised goes directly to Girls Incorporated of Washington County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting young women. Girls Inc. works hard every day to build confidence and foster leadership in the girls they serve, and the Muddy Mamas race aligns perfectly with their mission. The camaraderie, empowerment, and sense of achievement felt by participants after finishing the race is exactly what Girls Inc. strives to instill in the youth they mentor.
Funky Mamas in Action
Our Funky Mamas team embodied the spirit of the event—strong, determined, and ready for anything! From crawling through muddy pits to climbing over obstacles, every step of the 5k was filled with laughter and teamwork. It wasn’t just about finishing; it was about the journey, the support from one another, and the sense of accomplishment that came with every muddy high-five.
We couldn’t be prouder of our Funky Mamas team for not only participating but embracing the challenge with their full hearts. Seeing their smiles and muddy faces at the finish line was a reminder that when we work together, we can overcome any obstacle, whether it’s a muddy trench or an electrical challenge in the field.
